This criteria can be found on Page V of the Gifted WA Constitution (section 10:1B). The Gifted WA Committee has an online meeting once a month, so members in both metro and regional areas of WA are welcome to nominate. Members who nominate and are not selected for the Committee are encouraged to participate in the running of Gifted WA through our sub-committees.
* Gifted WA Committee consists of the following positions:
(a) a Chairperson
(b) a Vice-Chairperson
(c) a Secretary
(d) a Treasurer
(e) General Committee Members (5)
The AGM will be preceded by Nina Thomas's presentation that will commence at 5:30pm.
In this thought-provoking presentation, you will explore the complex and often overlooked world of gifted and twice-exceptional (2E) children, who poss exceptional talents alongside learning or developmental challenges. Nina will delve into the crucial strategies and insights needed to support gifted and 2E children as they navigate the intricacies of anxiety and trauma. She will shed light on how these exceptional young minds can not only overcome adversity but also thrive and unleash their full potential.
Through a combination of sharing research findings, practical tools, and real-life stories, a comprehensive understanding of the challenges these children face will be provided, with the aim to provide guidance for educators, parents, and caregivers. Join us in this exploration of nurturing gifted and 2E children amid adversity, as we seek to empower them to soar.
Kind regards, Lara Ognenis
Gifted WA Secretary
