For Families

Families

Gifted WA exists to support families as they embark on their journey of discovery and understanding of giftedness and twice exceptionality (2e).

We offer access to information and curated resources, including videos, PDFs and trusted weblinks to organisations like the AAEGT, the WA Department of Education, Mermaids and Mermen, Mensa, Hoagies Gifted and the Davidson Institute. We also run social events where like-minded children can meet, opportunities for parents to engage directly with our committee, and a regular calendar of events, both in person and online, where presenters share knowledge, insights and strategies for parents and educators alike.

A family membership entitles two parents and all children to attend every Gifted WA event for as long as the membership is active.

We don't provide personal advice or advocacy on an individual basis. Instead, our aim is to point you in the right direction, helping you understand where, what or who to engage to get the support you need.

We advocate for gifted children at both a state and national level, including through our association with the Australian Association for the Education of Gifted and Talented (AAEGT). A paid Gifted WA membership automatically includes free AAEGT membership.
