Western Australia's association for gifted support, advocacy and resources
Every term, Gifted WA hosts a morning tea in the city for our members. This provides a great opportunity for parents and teachers of gifted students to come together in an informal setting to chat and share stories with those on similar journeys and ask questions of our Gifted WA committee members.
Given the positive feedback of our last online meeting, due to the impact of COVID-19, we will hold the next morning tea online via Zoom on Monday 31st August at 10:30am. You will have an opportunity to chat with each other as well as our Chairperson, Dean Tollis, and Committee Member, Dr Kate Burton. Kate is a psychotherapist specialising in the assessment and therapeutic support of gifted and creative children, adolescents and adults. We hope that by offering the opportunity to join the session online, more of our regional members may be able to join in the discussion.
This term, we have introduced a focus topic on the social and emotional needs of Gifted students to fit into the Awareness Week topic of well-being. You may have questions about these needs and characteristics from a parent perspective or you may have common concerns or strategies to support and improve the wellbeing of gifted students in the classroom. Everyone is welcome!
BYO coffee and cake!
Please note: A Zoom meeting link and password will be sent to you after you register for the event.
